Stunning Stippling

The video “Hero” from Miguel Endara is really impressive example of stippling. The result of 210 hours and ~3.2 dots is a pleasant surprise.

Protéigon

I clearly have an affinity for stop-motion and this short by Steven Briand, who was a recent intern over at Partizan, is amazing. He created this video called Protéigon in just two months. In a word, it’s beautiful.

Urban Green Thumb

Urbio is a magnetic system from Beau Oyler and Jared Aller of Enlisted Design and Tim Cui of Volare Studio that can transform any wall or ferrous surface into a beautiful vertical garden. With both stunning design and packaging this Kickstarter alumni is most definitely on my wish list.

Focus Pocus

Lytro has developed a new camera that focuses the user on capturing the perfect moment, not necessarily the perfect photo. You can create the perfect photo later by shifting the perspective of the scene, and even switch seamlessly between 2D and 3D views. It’s really interesting to see how it works. You can also read more on the Lytro Blog.

Gojee, It’s What’s for Dinner

Gojee is a gorgeous recipe site that is attempting to make your life easier by recommending recipes based on the items you have purchased at your local grocery store. Unfortunately, unless you shop at D’Agostino’s in New York, you’re just going to have to view recipes by selecting an ingredient of choice.

LEARN, MOVE & EAT

I was inspired this weekend by a good friend and decided it’s time to begin writing and sharing again.  These videos have been circulating the web over the last week and they’re really nicely done.  #vactionofalifetime #jealous.

Lovin’ my 7D

A gorgeous shot of Ashley taken with my new 7D – 50mm f/1.4 prime.  The camera is fantastic and the lens is a very affordable option if you like to shoot in low light.  Much of my frustration with the run of the mill point and shoot camera is that they don’t capture good photos in low light; when I most enjoy taking photos.  I could have gone all the way down to the f/1.2, but I couldn’t justify the dramatic difference in cost.  There are a few more photos after the jump which, ironically, where taken in intense sunlight.

Fuck Cancer

I’m very lucky to say that I don’t have a family member who suffers from cancer, but I have plenty of friends who have family members that aren’t so fortunate.  I ran across letsfcancer.com – designed by PACWEBCO – and was instantly moved by its message.

Flagged Down

japan

WHYBIN/TBWA of Sydney created some gorgeous ads for the Sydney International Food Festival. The concept visually unites food with one of the most common international symbols – flags. In addition to being beautifully styled they beg to be eaten. The complete campaign can be seen after the jump or right here.
